MiTek's JUS series connectors are slant nail joist hangers designed to offer double shear nailing. They feature a dimple that allows for 30° to 45° nailing through the joist into the header, resulting in higher loads and less nailing. The slant/double shear nailing allows for higher load values, fewer nails and faster installation. MiTek connectors are designed for code compliance, easy installation with commonly-available fasteners and high performance.
- Use all specified fasteners: (8) 10d nails for header and (6) 10d nails for joist
- For use with treated lumber
- Joist nails must be driven in at 30-45° angle through joist or truss into header to achieve listed loads; standard length "double shear" nails must be used to achieve listed load values
- 16d sinkers (9 gauge x 3-1/4") may be used where 10d commons specified with no load reduction
